Neurallabs GHOST cameras

The Ghost cameras have embeded video analytics and AI-driven processing to detect, classify, and record vehicles — making them an “all-in-one” solution for mobility, traffic enforcement, security, and logistics.  

The Ghost cameras come in two models: 

Ghost AI Single

A single-sensor, all-in-one camera: for license plate recognition (LPR), with motorized lens (zoom/iris/focus) and day/night functionality (color by day; IR / black-and-white at night).  

Ghost AI Dual

More advanced, “dual-camera” version: combines a high-sensitivity camera for LPR with a second (color) camera to record contextual or evidential images/videos (e.g. of the full vehicle, surroundings), such as for evidence (e.g. for infractions) which must include more than just plate data.  

Primary Features & Strengths

Neural Ghost cameras offer a set of key advantages for traffic, ITS, enforcement, and security use-cases:

  • Embedded AI-based analytics — no external server required: They process video and analytics onboard, reducing infrastructure complexity, latency and reliance on external compute.
  • License Plate Recognition + Vehicle Classification & Metadata: Beyond just plates, they can detect vehicle type (car, truck, bus, etc.), color, make (where supported), speed, and more. Useful for traffic statistics, vehicle-type monitoring, enforcement.
  • Support for High-Speed & Multi-Lane Scenarios: Capable of reading plates in up to two lanes simultaneously — even vehicles traveling at very high speeds (e.g. up to 250 km/h per manufacturer data).
  • Evidence Capture (Dual version): The “Dual” camera model offers not just numeric metadata but also real-world images/videos (color evidence, full-view of vehicles or infractions), suitable for enforcement, forensic search or appeals.
  • Weather- & Environment-Ready: Cameras are built for outdoor deployment: IP66 / IP68 or similar ingress protection (dust, rain), impact protection, and rugged housings, enabling installation on gantries, posts or roadside infrastructure.

Typical Applications & Use-Cases

  • Traffic law enforcement & infractions detection: speeding, red-light violations, wrong-way driving, restricted-zone enforcement, low-emission / UVAR enforcement, detecting vehicles without a license plate, etc. (especially with Ghost AI Dual).
  • Automatic Tolling / Free-flow toll systems / Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) integration / Section control — where LPR, vehicle classification, speed & axle/weight detection are relevant.
  • Traffic monitoring & statistics / Smart-city mobility analysis — collecting data on traffic flows, vehicle types, speeds, counts, patterns, for urban planning, traffic management, mobility analytics.
  • Security, access control & logistics — e.g. tracking of vehicles entering/exiting sites, recognition of trailers/trucks in logistics yards, detection of stolen/cloned vehicles, perimeter control, parking management.
  • Forensic evidence & control rooms — thanks to the Dual model’s ability to capture evidentiary images/video plus analytics metadata, suitable for police work, traffic authorities, or compliance verification.
